Dear New Horizons Members:
 
The last Literary Lunch for this season was March 12, 2009.  The Hornby Island Choir entertained us.  
 
This year, Verna Kimmerly and Donna DuPlessis were the main organizers of the lunches.
Each month, members took turns to plan and to work on each Thursday.
October were Isabella and Robert Anderson
November were Pauline Garton and Bev Lownie
December and January were Verna and Donna
February were Maureen Tierney and Jeff Pollitt
March were Marg Joyce and Rosie Nixon
 
The Board extends a mighty thank you to them and to Judith Lawrence, who found the entertainment and
provided her own comedy during the introductions and reminders of coming events.
Have you enjoyed their contributions last season?  We’re looking for new contributors at the next.
We need Literary Lunch organizers for 2009-2010!
Also, new directors are needed.  Our General Meeting will be in May, 2009. Please call

The March Pot Luck is scheduled for March 27th, 2009.
6:00 p.m. for starters, dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The first off-island field trip for March is:
Oklahoma, the classic Rogers & Hammerstein musical, with show-stopping tunes like, "Oh What A Beautiful
Morning," "Surrey With the Fringe On Top" and "I'm Just a Girl Who Can't Say No."
Matinee, Saturday, April 4, at 2 pm at the Sid Williams Theatre in Courtenay. Tickets $22. We’ll lunch in
Courtenay before the show. Please confirm your attendance by Monday, March 20, by contacting Bob Sarti, 335-1956, or  HYPERLINK "" rsarti@telus.net. Let us know if you need a ride, or can provide a ride.
 
More field trips are planned in April 30th and May 31st.  The first will be to Milner Gardens and the other is the
 play, ‘Not Now Darling’, at the Qualicum Theatre.
